Charles VENNEMAN ( 1802 - 1875 )
Charles Venneman was a Belgian painter of landscapes with animals and anecdotal scenes. He was the student of Joseph De Cauwer and of Ferdinand De Braekeleer sr. He participated at the Salon of Ghent in 1820. He worked from 1821 until 1836 as a decorator. From 1836 onward he dedicated is life completely to painting. In 1837 he moved to Antwerp to work together with Ferdinand De Braekeleer sr., where got influenced by the oeuvre of David Teniers and Adriaen Van Ostade. He exhibited succesfully at the Salons of Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent.
